‘Jeans and a white tee’ is practically the universal summer uniform (jean shorts if you live in a hot climate) and why shouldn’t it be, the versatility alone makes this look a no-brainer. Basics don’t have to be boring, but they do have to be easy to put together or they lose their charm. This detailed blouse from ChicWish covers all the bases; it’s white and wearable. While it goes with just about everything, I loved pairing it with skinny jeans to keep the look classic. This update on the original feels fresh, inspired but not trying too hard to be trendy. The top has so many details from the off-the-shoulder ruched sleeves and split pleated front to the zip up back. It’s sold out online but I will link a similar style down below for you to check out!
I rarely ever wear denim, opting instead for dresses or skirts because I struggle to find a comfortable fit that hugs my curves and flatters my shape but these high waisted skinny jeans from Topshop are the exception. They’re soft, stretchy and the material is lightweight. These jeans are the perfect match with this blouse because the high cut prevents too much tummy from showing.
I have a soft spot for accessories; purses, shoes and jewelry are my “thing” if you will. This handbag is vintage Gucci from LXR & Co. in the Century 21 department store in New York City. It’s nice to have shiny and new designer pieces but if you can get the gently used version at half price, why not take advantage? The shoes are standard black pumps and the little choker was an impulse purchase from Nordstrom. The bag and blouse are what elevate the outfit from basic to everyday chic. It really was the perfect look for discovering one of my favorite new cafes in Miami, LaMuse Cafe located on the bottom level of the EPIC Hotel in Brickell.
The cafe is part of Avant Gallery, an exquisite art gallery that makes for a wonderfully whimsical atmosphere while sipping a latte. LaMuse Cafe offers a full menu of inspired light bites, coffees and pastries. They offer dairy-free and vegan options which is a must for me and everything the chef creates looks as beautiful on the plate as the art on the walls. It’s the type of place that invites you in and makes you want to stay a while… reading a magazine, people watching, or just indulging in the delicious treats. I highly recommend you pay this place a visit:
LaMuse Cafe @ Avant Gallery
270 Biscayne Boulevard Way, #102, Miami FL 33131.
When you go, be sure to sit somewhere near the “naughty corner”… it has perfect lighting.
Shop the look…
