When taking a vacation, or in this case, “staycation,” I always look forward to packing because it means creating a perfectly curated collection of my favorites pieces. Ironically, once I arrive to a tropical destination I never actually want to wear anything but a bikini. In any case, the sad reality of vacation is that there are times when a bathrobe or bathing suit just aren’t appropriate and you have to put on real clothes. The more bright and tropical the better, especially in Miami!
This set from Zara is cute, casual and comfortable, the perfect daytime attire for a beach getaway. The palm print has little pops of red and the cut of the shorts and crop top is very flattering. It has a retro vibe going on which I didn’t notice until the talented Christine Michelle pointed it out during our photo shoot.
In my first blog post about my stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, I showed you the beautiful view from “Brickell Beach” but this time let’s go inside the Penthouse Suite… It’s pretty incredible!
Inside the suite there’s an office (not pictured) with a beautiful view, a bedroom and connecting bathroom with a beautiful view, living room, full kitchen and dining area with, you guessed it, a beautiful view. There’s not one room in the entire suite that doesn’t look out over the water and it has a very warm and cozy feel. It’s the perfect place to unwind and wake up refreshed, renewed and ready to take on the world.
No matter where I’m vacationing, I always bring at least one outfit that’s reserved for a special night out. It might never happen, but just in case. I’ve been on plenty of vacations where comfy casuals were all I took out of my suitcase, but having that one look that makes you feel like a million bucks is nice to have if you feel inspired. For me, this Reformation LBD is the ultimate sexy date night look. The material is tencel, an environmentally friendly, sustainable and recycled fabric created from wood. It’s form-fitting (my favorite), it has clasps running top to bottom, and little bardot sleeves all of which make it a very sexy yet sophisticated, maybe even a little edgy, LBD.
I styled it with simple studded earrings and my favorite Louboutin heels. This dress may not look or feel like much but it’s honestly one of my favorite dresses of all time. It makes me feel so confident and fashionable… exactly how I want to feel while enjoying some time away from reality.
