I love New York City. It truly is a magical place… the food, the shopping, the energy is unlike anywhere else in the world. Recently, my fiance and I took a trip to NYC and even though it was just a weekend trip, we filled it with adventures which meant, of course, lots of walking and quick changes!
One of my favorite outfits was this sporty Topshop dress and black booties. The dress is fitted, stretchy scuba material in such a vibrant print that you really don’t need to add very much to it. The black booties were so comfortable, I actually walked around in them for two days straight and never complained once (a giant feat that can’t go unrecognized!) The black bag was a recent purchase, a vintage Gucci purse from Century 21. Inside they have a separate shop that deals with gently used luxury goods that were used in print ads or on runways and that’s where I spotted this gem. The look may seem too dressy for daytime sightseeing, but in New York you never know what kind of restaurant, museum or shop you might find yourself so I prefer to air on the side of glamour. Always.
One of my favorite outfits from the trip was a lacy black romper I wore to dinner at Beauty and Essex. This Missguided mini onesie is the cutest romper in my closet! The details on this number are incredible. There is a hidden zipper down the back, nude lining and the lace overlay feels sturdy and looks stunning.
The neckline plunges and the sleeves and bottom of the shorts have unique edges due to the lace. I paired the romper with a similar looking lacy choker from Nordstrom, nude heels, my almost everyday gold clutch and simple gold earrings. I was a little nervous about the quality and fit of this piece since I ordered it online, but I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It’s really dressy and fun, easy to accessorize and extremely comfortable. The only downside is when you have to use the restroom, but that is the case with all rompers! Overall, I love this piece and wish it came in other colors like white or navy. I’ve been really happy so far with everything I’ve ordered from Missguided. The price is right too, none of their pieces are particularly expensive when you consider the detail of the garment.
To create this makeup look I used the new long wear CHANEL foundation Le Teint Ultra Tenue, the double intensity long wear lipstick in Sensual Rose, and House of Lashes falsies in Heart Breaker.
