Face of the fall campaign, Kristen Stewart, might seem like a strange fit for Chanel Beauty. Se’s not conventionally beautiful and sophisticated or even feminine for that matter. Previous Chanel muses include Gisele Bundchen, Nicole Kidman, Blake Lively and Brad Pitt, who even as a man seems to make more sense than KStew… Enter Lucia Pica.
Chanel’s new global creative makeup and color designer is the answer to all of our questions. Her fearless, uninhibited sense of style and color is both refreshing and defiant. Together, Pica and Stewart are changing the game for Chanel and ultimately, the beauty industry. With a brick red, chocolatey smokey eye and bold red lip, Kristen Stewart’s campaign is everything millennials have been waiting for from the world’s top fashion house. In essence, she slays.

Le Rouge Collection N. 1 is the first collection created by Lucia Pica and it’s delicious. The eyeshadow quad Candeur et Experience ($61) is warm, rich and pigmented. The red shadow is beautiful on light eyes and transitions well from day to evening. There are two illusion d’ombre cream shadows ($36), Rouge Brule and Rouge Contraste, both limited edition. The Rouge Profond blush ($45) is deep and dramatic and the nail polishes are perfect for creating the ultimate vixen red manicure. My favorite pieces from the collection are the two waterproof eyeliners ($33), Eros and Agape and the six new lipsticks. There are two Rouge Allure ($37) cream lipsticks and four Rouge Allure Velvet Matte lipsticks, five red shades and one perfect nude. Red is of course, the essence and inspiration behind the entire collection.

There is nothing more iconic than red lipstick and Coco Chanel herself is a legend in the game. The first Chanel beauty product was red lipstick in ivory packaging, launched in 1924 and sold exclusively to the clients who shopped in her boutique. Her spirit clearly lives on in Le Rouge Collection N.1 as does her desire to make women feel beautiful.
